Bed is awesome. I also love the lantern/garland/puff ball combo on the ceiling.

I’m trying to think of a way to do this smaller, with my kids. Toothpicks, maybe? Popsicle sticks? Hmm.
greencrafts:

I like this idea. It’s cheap and doesn’t take up much space. I would want a little more finished look to it, though. I would use boards that were the same width, probably thin ones so I could put more of them on the tree. I would scrape and sand and prime them. Then I would paint them all the same color, something that would show up well against my walls, maybe even metallic gold.
Or I could completely cover the whole thing with small gold and/or silver and/or green foil wrappers from candy. It would have a nice wrinkly texture that reflected the light like facets. Then I would coat the foil with a clear sealer to protect it. Then I could store it in the back of the closet or under the bed. You could make it with wing nuts on the back for easy disassembly for storage. I just may have to make one of these for next year. It could be left up year round, and changed for the different holidays. In between holidays, it could be decorated with things appropriate for the season, photos, small artwork or collectibles. I’m going to start looking for wood.
